Doom Scroll
“I will doom scroll until my eyes go dry, swell, and I fall asleep and die.” is a collaborative multimedia display of our skewed digital personas. The power we give social media influences and alters our ability to think, connect and engage. The exhibition contemplates technology and contemporary capitalist culture. This gathering of diverse mediums expresses curiosity in playing with different simulated versions of our bodies. This trio embraces their collective disorientation, using surrealism and absurdity. This collection is 3D renderings in a comic book aesthetic surrounding themes of technology, social media, and their relentless lure. These pieces as fine art memes for the sake of pleasure and humour. The digital characters and scenes are personifications of mundane feelings from consuming media. These renderings are introspective visualizations of our infatuation with viewing other people's lives, the comfort in fabricating a digital persona, the repetitive Tiktok sounds, and the relentless annoyance of luring attention.
